WHAT A SUMMER! THANK YOU, COMMUNITY!

Our Community Teed Up to Connect at The Hamptons Golf Club

On July 29th, McMan Calgary & Area welcomed golfers, sponsors, and community partners to The Hamptons Golf Club for the 4th Annual Tee Up to Connect Charity Golf Tournament. Presenting Sponsor UKG led an impressive roster of supporters, including Gold Sponsors Logel Homes and Hillcrest Financial, alongside dozens of hole sponsors, contest sponsors, and silent auction donors who made the day possible.

Thanks to the generosity of golfers, sponsors, donors, and McMan’s partnership with Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink, the tournament raised $83,500 for McMan’s mental health programming for children, youth, and families across Calgary and area.

Every dollar raised helps someone in our community access mental health supports before reaching a crisis point. Thank you to everyone who teed up with us this year for connection, compassion, and community!

Community Support for McMan’s DBT Program

McMan Calgary & Area looks to the community to help us make sure that our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program is available to young people when they need it, regardless of their financial circumstances.

DBT is an evidence-based treatment for youth who struggle to experience and regulate their emotions. It has proven effective for young people facing depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and disordered eating.

Grounded in mindfulness, DBT balances the need for change with acceptance of where each young person is on their journey.

McMan’s DBT Skills Training runs over 12 weeks and teaches specific tools to help youth cope with emotions and experience life differently than they currently do. The program is delivered in a group setting that feels more like a classroom than a therapy session. Participants learn from each other, practice new skills together, and build a sense of community along the way.

McMan’s 12-week program has a nominal registration fee. Community support enables us to support people, in full or in part, if they are experiencing financial barriers to participation.

Support from TELUS

Without access to critical support and resources, the health and well-being of many youth are at risk. TELUS Friendly Future Foundation supports the well-being of youth who face obstacles to reaching their full potential, giving young people opportunities to develop confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging. We recently received a generous grant through the TELUS Calgary and Southern Alberta Community Board for our DBT Program.

We are grateful to TELUS and the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation for investing in our DBT Skills Training Program. With their help, we are giving youth practical tools to manage their mental health and move forward in life, regardless of their financial circumstances. Thank you, TELUS!

Support from Rotary Club of Calgary, Downtown

The Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown directs its community giving toward initiatives supporting youth at risk and mental health, with a preference for projects that create sustainable impact and direct community benefit.

The Club’s review committee, after hearing directly from McMan about the program’s reach and impact, recognized DBT Skills Training as exactly this kind of investment, one that serves vulnerable youth today while building lasting capacity in the community.

Thank you, Rotary Club of Calgary, Downtown, for believing in the impact of DBT as much as we do!

Thanks also to Rotary Club of Calgary, West Club for their generous contribution to McMan’s DBT program!
