Resilient children, youth and families are a result of caring and strong communities.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

How to Give

Our ability to help close to 3000 individuals and families each year is because of community supporters like you! Your generosity ensures that we have the resources to provide timely and personalized support to meet the unique needs that vulnerable children, youth and families face in their times of need.

You can direct your one time or monthly gift to one of our Areas of Need or select “Where it’s needed most” which allows us to flexibly meet emergent client needs.

McMan Calgary & Area is a registered charitable organization: #119035947RR0001. All of our donors are recognized in our Annual Report to the Community. If you would like to remain anonymous, please select “I’d like to remain anonymous” on the donation form.

Monthly Gifts

Monthly gifts help us ensure critical services are offered all year round when needed by our clients! Tax receipts for monthly gifts are issued in February.

Gifts in Kind

We accept select in-kind gifts such as new toys in original packaging, gift cards and care packages for parents such as diapers and baby gear.

Areas of Need

McMan Calgary & Area strives to provide a continuum of care for the children, youth and families who need a little extra care.

Collaborative Outreach Preventing Exploitation (COPE)

In Canada 95% of trafficking victims are women and of those 24% are under 18 years of age.  McMan’s Collaborative Outreach Preventing Exploitation (COPE) Program (formerly known as the PSECA program) works with youth, 12-24 years, who are at risk of sexual exploitation to increase their personal safety and reduce their risk of exploitation.

Youth served through COPE often face complex barriers including mental health struggles, addictions, and homelessness. The COPE Program provides support to 8-15 youth, and their families each year.  In the past year and a half the number of referrals to the program has tripled!

Mental Health & Wellness Groups

In Alberta, 1 in 5 people experience a mental illness and over 10% of Albertans 15 years and older battle drug and alcohol dependency. The chances are you know someone who has or is currently facing mental illness or addiction. Our school and community-based programs like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills groups help youth and parents learn practical strategies and skills to increase their own mental wellness and support their loved ones.

With support from community donors like you, last year over 300 participants took part in Mental Health and Wellness workshops. Help us keep the momentum going!

Hope Homes

The Hope Homes program serves youth 16-24 years of age who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, through individualized supports and safe and stable housing.  Hope Homes’ youth work towards educational, employment, and personal goals they need to thrive.

Upon enrollment, each youth receives a starter kit comprised of essential items needed to move into a new home. The starter kits provide youth with the necessities for independent living and creates a sense of belonging with items they call their own.

All starter kits are funded through the generosity of supporters like you. For more information on partnering with us to increase the impact of these kits, contact us.
