Ways to Give
Resilient children, youth and families are a result of caring and strong communities.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
How to Give
Our ability to help over 2500 individuals and families each year is because of community supporters like you! Your generosity ensures that we have the resources to provide timely and personalized support to meet the unique needs that vulnerable children, youth and families face in their times of need.
You can direct your one time or monthly gift to one of our Areas of Need or select “Where it’s needed most” which allows us to flexibly meet emergent client needs.
McMan Calgary & Area is a registered charitable organization: #119035947RR0001. All of our donors are recognized in our Annual Report to the Community. If you would like to remain anonymous, please select “I’d like to remain anonymous” on the donation form.
One Time Donation
Big or small, every gift helps us make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families in Calgary & Area. Together we are transforming lives.
Monthly gifts help us ensure critical services are offered all year round when needed by our clients! Tax receipts for monthly gifts are issued in February.
Gifts in Kind
We accept select in-kind gifts such as new toys in original packaging, gift cards and care packages for parents such as diapers and baby gear.
Areas of Need
McMan Calgary & Area strives to provide a continuum of care for the children, youth and families who need a little extra care.
Youth Mental Health & Wellness
In Alberta, 1 in 5 people experience a mental illness and over 10% of Albertans 15 years and older battle drug and alcohol dependency. The chances are you know someone who has or is currently facing mental illness or addiction.
Our school and community-based programs such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) groups and KickStart/ReStart Groups help youth learn the skills to promote life-long mental and emotional well-being.
With support from community donors like you, last year over 300 youth took part in Mental Health and Wellness workshops. Help us keep the momentum going! Right now Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink will match your gift up to 50%.
For more information about how you can partner with us to increase the number of youth who have access to professional mental health supports, contact us.
I get stressed easily so the DBT skills help me to have down time and put my head back on straight so I can continue with my day. I don’t like to throw around words like life-changing and profound, but it has been an incredible life-changing thing.
~Elliot, DBT Group Participant
Prevention of Youth Homelessness
Over 40% of youth experiencing homelessness first experienced it prior to 16 years of age. These youth are over 50% less likely to graduate high school and are at greater risk for mental health and addiction issues.
At McMan, we work with youth to strengthen their connections to family, friends and community while providing them with practical supports and access to much needed resources. Funds raised for the Prevention of Youth Homelessness will support our Rapid Rehousing Program.
The Rapid Rehousing program supports youth who are experiencing homelessness for the first time, typically less than three months. We help the youth work with a team of professionals, family and friends, to find stable housing, develop their life-skills and work towards their educational or employment goals.
Last year, over 35 youth were served through our housing programs. Together, we can prevent youth homelessness!

McMan not only helped me find a place of my own, but also helped me reconnect with my family in a way I never thought I would

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Supports
FASD refers to a range of permanent physical, mental, behavioral and learning disabilities that person may have a result of exposure to alcohol in the womb. Commonly, FASD presents as memory impairment, poor adaptive functioning, problems with judgment and abstract reasoning – all of which impact quality of life.
Often, FASD Youth struggle with homelessness, underemployment, exploitation and lack many practical skills for living. Our FASD MAPS Program helps youth aged 13-21 better understand their diagnosis and gain the skills they need to be successful adults.
Right now, we are experiencing long waitlists for FASD services for youth and their caregivers. With your support we can do more!
For more information about how you can partner with us to increase the number of youth and their families who can access FASD programming, contact us.
I was taught to embrace myself…I was taught that I am William, not FASD! I learned how to focus on my strengths. Currently, I live with a supportive roommate and am extremely happy with where my life is heading
