Teaching youth aged 7-10 leadership and communication skills

About KickStart

The KickStart Leadership Program is for children 7-10 years old, who are looking to further develop skills related to personal development and leadership. This free program is offered during and after school hours in elementary schools throughout Calgary.  For information about KickStart programming offered in Okotoks and surrounding areas, check out the McMan Family Resource Network – Okotoks.

KickStart is offered through 8 sessions and provides children with an opportunity to learn and connect with peers. The 8-sessions cover the following:

  • Self Esteem
  • Communication Skills
  • Decision Making
  • Dealing with Stress
  • Assertiveness
  • Media Awareness
  • Smoking

For children enrolled in KickStart who may require additional guidance we also offer 1 to 1 support session. 1 to 1 sessions are provided by our skilled facilitators and help children work on their learning goals. To register your child for 1 to 1 support, please complete the referral form below.

This program is funded by the City of Calgary.
